Terms of service

These terms apply to the blockchain RPC endpoints run by 1170990 Ontario Ltd., operating as Selvage Labs ("Selvage Labs", "we"), such as wss://asset-hub.selvagelabs.io. By using an endpoint, you agree to them.
1. The service
We run blockchain nodes and make them available to applications through standard RPC interfaces. The free public endpoints are offered as-is. Paid plans are covered by a separate written agreement.
2. Fair use and rate limits
To keep the service fast for everyone, each client is limited. Today's limits, per IP address:
- 10 open connections at a time;
- 20 new connections or HTTPS calls a second, with short bursts up to 40;
- 1,800 calls a minute inside each WebSocket connection.
New connections and HTTPS calls over the limit receive HTTP 429; calls over the limit inside an open WebSocket are slowed down, then refused with an error. Either can be retried. We may change limits to protect the service, and paid plans may have higher ones.
3. What you may not do
Don't use the service to:
- attack, overload or probe it or anyone else's systems;
- try to get around rate limits, for example by spreading traffic across many addresses;
- break the law, or the rules of the networks we serve;
- resell access as your own service without a written agreement.
4. Suspension
We may block or limit traffic that breaks these terms or threatens the service. Where we can, we'll tell you first.
5. No warranty for the free service
The free endpoints are provided "as is". Blockchain data comes from the networks themselves; we don't change it, and we can't guarantee it's free of errors those networks make.
6. Liability
The free service. The free endpoints are provided without charge. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from their use. If we are found liable despite this, our total liability for the free service is limited to CAD $100.
Paid plans. For paid plans, unless your written agreement says otherwise, our total liability is limited to the fees paid in the 12 months before the claim.
In every case, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost funds or profits, arising from use of the service.
7. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced on selvagelabs.io at least 30 days before they apply to paid plans.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
